Post-mining restoration

The Post-mining Restoration team under the leadership of prof. Ing. Petr Sklenička, CSc. focuses on ecological succession and biodiversity restoration at selected sites. It studies the relationships between vegetation, soil microflora and microclimatic factors. He plays a key role in the reclamation of post-mining sites, focusing on both industrially affected areas and agricultural landscapes, where he monitors the processes of restoration of soil properties. The team's research also includes evaluating the effectiveness of different reclamation methods, including natural restoration versus engineering interventions, and their impact on the long-term ecological stability of the site.

The team contributes to the creation of long-term stable ecosystems that allows natural landscape regeneration and optimization of land use.
