Online Course: Climate Change and How to Deal with It

The pilot run of the course will take place from November 24, 2025, through January 31, 2026.
The course is completely free and open to anyone interested.

About course:

The online course “Climate Change and How to Deal with It” provides a clear and practical introduction to how the Czech landscape is changing, how the risks of drought and flooding arise, and answers the most fundamental questions regarding the development of measures to adapt to climate change.
It is suitable for the general public, municipalities, schools, environmental professionals, students, and anyone who wants to better understand the relationship between the landscape and climate change.

What you'll learn

nderstand key landscape processes and their connection to climate change.

read and use modern mapping tools (e.g., GIS, Lidar),
gain an understanding of hydrological risks, erosion threats, and landscape-forming processes,
develop proposals for adaptation measures and think about the landscape in a broader context,
see specific examples from the Ústí Region and the entire Czech Republic.

The "Water Management in the Era of Climate Change" course

We cordially invite you to participate in the workshop Landscape Measures focused on environmentally sustainable land regeneration tailored to the municipalities of the Ústí Region. The event will take place on April 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the cultural hall of the municipality of Malé Žernoseky. Come and listen to the project proposal by experts from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague and share the needs and challenges of your municipality.

The event is part of the project RUR - Region to the University, University to the Region (reg. number CZ.10.02.01/00/22_002/0000210), activity D 2.2 - Landscape Measures workshop.
